Fabric Painting – Flowers

I decided to recreate my painting Abundance as a textile.

I usually use silk paint when painting onto silk however with this new textile I have used fabric paint and silk dye.  I wanted to create a detailed fabric picture, in the past fabric paints would often go hard.  The quality of fabric paint has vastly improved allowing me to create a painting on fabric as well as could be created on canvas.

Below you can see the development of a flower as I build up the fabric painting:

I was surprised and very pleased with the results of using fabric paint and silk dye.
